Hello!
Sooooo... No more France travel posts then. At least, no more until I go to France again. I'm actually quite sad about that, and worried because that means that I'll need to start thinking more about what kinds of posts to... Post. I will also admit that I took a teeny tiny lie in my last post as well when I said it was the final 'interrail' post because I do have to write about my experience of interail. Hopefully that will go up on Saturday, so keep an eye out! I digress...
Last Wednesday, March 14th 2018 was a very important day - my birthday. And also pi day (ah, memories of my 21st pi day party). I actually had a pretty amazing day, so I thought I should write a little about what I got up to.
I'll skip the boring morning routine elements because they didn't really differ much from an average day for me, except from a delivery that I recieved from my lovely Saph - a bouquet of flowers. I'd totally forgotten that she said she was going to send me one, mostly because I thought she was joking when she said she was going to! I'd also had a few cards arrive and I opened some presents from my friend. Then it was time to try and decide what to wear.
I've had a lot of body confidence issues recently, and I bought a dress from boohoo that I wanted to wear, but once it arrived, I hated how I looked. But I didn't know what else I could wear, so in the end I decided that I should maybe just wear it because I wasn't likely to be taking much OOTD photos. After I decided what I was going to wear, I sorted out my make up, using the nyx makeup that my step sister got for me for Christmas.
I'd arranged to meet some of my friends at 2.30pm in Glasgow to go to an escape room and then three of my other friends later on for a meal once they finished work. So I hopped off the train and sped walked to Queen street, met up with Robin, Racheal and Andrew, and, with the help of Google maps, we navigated to Escape Reality, where we were booked into doing the Jungala Room at 3pm.
It was so much fun, and we didn't have to use any hints at all, escaping the room with 10 minutes to spare! We were so proud of ourselves, and the funniest moment had to be toy monkeys landing on Robin's head. I wish we had a video of that moment! I don't want to give too much away about that room but it was a really fun experience and I think we're all gonna try to go back soon!
After that, we took a walk to the Social in Glasgow to have some cocktails and a little bit of food. We had around four cocktails and I told them everyone a story of something that happened in France, and then Jack arrived. One of my other friends messaged to say that he couldn't come along. So, we finished our cocktails and rearranged a time with Morag before heading to Vapiano for our meal.
I've been to Vapiano before, and the reason I chose to go there for my birthday (other than the fact we had a really great experience last time) was because you don't need a reservation to go there. And, because this was a Wednesday evening, we thought that it would be worth the risk. Which it was.
Of course I had pizza, and we all had more cocktails, as well as some amazing conversations. And it just felt like in no time at all, it was over, and it was time for everyone to head home. Which was so sad.
I had such an incredible birthday, and the more I think back on it, the more I want to smile. There was so much laughter and being around some of my best friends just made the day so perfect, I'm so sad that it was over so soon.
Have you ever had a really great birthday night out/party? Or have you ever done an escape room before?
I'll see you again on Saturday so until next time, be excellent to each other.
I am 24 years old and I have learned a lot of things in my life. One of the most important lessons is that you should live for yourself, not for others. When I was younger, it seemed like everyone around me had their own idea about how to live my life and what I should do with it. Now that I'm older and wiser, I know better than anyone else what's best for https://www.easy-essay.org/. Today is my birthday and now more than ever before there are so many people telling me how to spend this day but again-I know myself best! If you're reading this blog post then hopefully you've found some inspiration from these words because after all we only get one shot at living out our lives!
