WEEK THREE: kicking the habit

Can you believe it's been 3 weeks now since I started this food experiment?  There's only one week left to go until I'm allowed to have candy, fizzy drinks and pizza again!

Okay, so what's happened this week?

Well...  Not much.  Although, Thursday marked the 22 day mark, which was a pretty important day, as the whole purpose behind this was that it takes 22 days to break a habit.

This week, I still haven't eaten any candy (even though I wanted to), I still haven't had any pizza (although I wanted to, mainly due to advertisements for XX% off Domino's pizza that I've been sent through in my texts and e-mails) and I haven't had any fizzy drinks either. Yeah, I do miss having Irn Bru, but honestly I'm quite happy with drinking my flavoured water (which has no sugars, only sweeteners in it)


This week I've been back at college, and what I've found myself doing is not taking my break times in class to eat anything, and have instead opted to stay in class and stick to drinking my water.  For lunch, I've been going for smoothies in Glasgow's Buchanan Galleries (Fruit smoothies from Fuel <3) or going to the local newsagent for a sandwhich and a packet of crisps.

At home, I've been eating mostly crisps and Jaffa cakes, which aren't good at all.  I should be buying in more fruit.  I'll aim to have more fruit for this week.

However, I have noticed an amazing improvement in my sleep!
With the fact I've been taking in less caffeine, I've been falling asleep in less than an hour, where before I'd be tossing and turning for over an hour.


Well, I think that's it for this week!
